Handbags ......are girls best friends!!!

It is not a secret that I love colour, pattern and texture, in all shape and form (toys to fabric) but really what a girl wants, really really wants are bags and shoes.... (and make-up ....and jewellery of course!), but I am a simple girl, and I like my comforts, so I was never one for the high heel and rather collect All Stars in all the colours of the rainbow!

Now HANDBAGS....are a passion starting as far back as I can remember!

I have ...many, all shapes, colour, sizes and style, cheap really as I find that the recent craze for IT bags priced  £500,00 - £ 1000,00 upwords is WRONG! (Well I can't afford them anyway!).

I have been looking for a good investment in the current Sales but I have been disappointed as so far nothing cought my eye and... my pocket size!

However I have noticed 4 super cute candidates, maybe forever a dream but still, too cute to miss the chance of a special notice:

1-

The CUTE one - Anya Hindmarch Marano Clutch, a fun purse which plays music, lights up and snows....all packaging is to die for!!!!

I LOVE THIS ONE!!! Unfortunately it is also very expensive ( Retails £ 865.00 on Sale £ 435.00 !) but it is a real dream bag!

 2 -

The FUN one- If you like colour , Ted Baker current Patent Range in Candy colours is Super and Affordable, ish!

I love the Marketing Retail Displays of  The Sweet Shoppe, a  bright Vintage look you cannot miss!

3-

The QUIRKY one - Lulu Guiness

Clutches and bags so pretty you can't do without!

4 -

The SNOB - Saffiano Leather

I Always liked the texture of this Leather style, only to recently discover that it is called Saffiano, and it is found in best leather manufacturers, such as Gucci, Hermes, Prada, and now DKNY and many more!

Very elegant and one to dream for!

I Heart Covent Garden

I love walking in the Centre of London, I still feel like a tourist when I visit my favorite destinations, Islington, Piccadilly, Oxford Street, Kings Road, Notting Hill, Marylebone, but the best is Covent Garden, as there is so much to do and see....for any age and taste...Soho, Theatres, Cafes and Restaurants, Shops and Market, Museums....Ballet,  Cinemas......so if you are a tourist and lucky to visit London this winter : come and check for yourself!!!

If you visit Monday morning you will have the added bonus of the Antique  Market, which for any Vintage lover is a wonderful opportunity to bag a bargain ( I did!)...

You can also walk in the main Market area where you will find great stalls and quirky handmade bits and bobs.

I am also pleased to notice that Jamie Oliver (yes I am a fan) has just replaced an old fashioned and boring English open Cafe with a fantastic new and polished Restaurant. I am so impressed again not just with the food ( I am Italian so I kind of feel safe here) but with... the usual attention to detail!
The Design is simple and great with fantastic colours and material choices....down to the coasters!!!

Festive decorations....

 Giant Bambi....

 Union Jack :

This is an example of what you will get..... YUM!

For more information just go there and walk around to discover the many attractions...you won't be disappointed!

London: Somerset House - A great holiday day out!

Today I treated myself to another day filled with "brain food" such as a visit to a Museum, although one of a different kind!

After last week successful trip to the Tate Britain and the Pre-Raphaellites Exhibition, I joined some other mums in view of the soon feared school closure ( if you  are a mum... you will know what I mean!) for a last chance of free morning time to go to Somerset House.

It is full of events and places to visit: The Impressionist permanent Gallery, the Tim Walker Photograpic Exhibition, Valentino Couture, and for families there is the choice of a fun Ice Rink, Pop Up shops and the fantastic Tom Cafe and Rest.

Some of the above is free, so it is not a bad destination for the pocket either!

See some pictures and .... plan your next visit!

I have always admired the utterly beautiful and out of the ordinary visual story tales by Tim Walker on Vogue . There are giant dolls, old houses filled with sand and robot like models..... it is a wonderful background to fashion of the highest standard!
And yes ...I wish I had the giant doll all to myself, nevermind the size!

This is just a taste of the many photo-works now exhibited at Somerset House (Free!)

Valentino does not need any intro.... the clothes speak for themselves...just walk in and imagine yourself on this magical "Passerella".

Festive Thoughts......

Well here we are, almost one weeks to go before schools closing for the winter holiday break!

That is what I am thinking right now as I need to start planning for fun daily ideas to keep my kids happy and entertained... not easy!

So I will not have much time for me, my craft and blogging but that is ok..... if only it wasn't soooo cold!

While all are busy shopping for presents I have a special idea pick for your craft buddies who already have it all: a sewing set by SAJOU! This French historical haberdashery manufacturer has resurrected the beautiful Vintage products and they are perfect although...expensive!

Here some pictures to keep you (and me!)... salivating and hoping that someone...somewhere will pick up the idea!!!!!
