Kitch and fun accessories in the kitchen

I am an Interior Designer and my main day time occupation is: Kitchen Designer.

I always loved kitchens, I even collect miniature toy kitchens...so have a pick in my own tiny kitchen..... I love tea towels and aprons so they are always in display!

I am planning to make my own with my fave fabrics, Heather Ross, Amy Butler, Kokka, Suzuko Koseki, Yuwa, Liberty, Michael Miller...and vintage of course!

Orange and 50' retro green are the best, with a splash of Florida vibe, why not (love flamingoes and pineapple, can you tell?)

BUON APPETITO....I forgot to mention my Italian cooking, pasta , pasta and more pasta!!!!

My old sofa in incognito......in an ideal world I would replace it pronto with a "new retro version" matched with an Ercol coffe table, unfortunately for the time being it is in disguise with lots of colourful and bright cushions and blankets......I love the LisaJane oblong patchwork sausage cushion and Cat & Dog by Blondieandco, both Etsy happy acquisitions!

Flamingos are great.....can't even explain why!!!
A boring Ikea chair with a cheerful patchwork blanket ...much better!
My creative room...the Conservatory...full of sun light and bright accessories!

More shy sofa ....ooooh!

I did it...maybe! Here is my new retro sewing blog!

I am very confused...I do not seem to understand how to blog...so if  anyone is ever to read this post..please let me know!!!!!

I am new to the fabric world...I got hooked a year ago, at the Stitch Exhibition in Ally Pally, London,  I loved the colours, patterns, textures and designs of Japanese fabrics, in particular Kawaii and Zakka style ( new words to me!!!) and coming home with a huge bundle.....it was the start of a new love story (following years collecting dollhouses, barbi, playmo...)...now my home is loaded with stacks and bundles...as you can see in the pictures, also buttons, doilies, lace, ribbons!!!!
Can't recommend enough a course to learn how to use a sewing machine... now quilting and stitching is my passion to create fabulous aprons ( oh yes, I collect these too!), quilted blankets, shawls and scarves, wall art, cushions, bags, mats, bunting...........

I also chase here and there the occasional Bambi, Jedite, retro kitchenalia 60'-70' , scandi style..........,  no more room!

My fave Blogs are  Dottie Angel , Blondieandco, Nikki Trench, Cherise, Ayumill, Kaspara and I am addicted to Etsy and Ebay.

I have a huge collection of sewing magazines and books...so now I am ready to be part of this wonderful new world.

This is my first quilt...love the scissors fabric and contrasting colours!!!!

Fabrics and odd salt and pepper couple!

The odd couple.....vintage salt and pepper..... best friends ever!
Log cabin quilt By Anna Maria Horner! Beautiful!
Bambi print....my favourite ever!

Well....I was so pleased with myself and my first ever blog composition that I forgot to add some pictures..... Oh dear me!!!!
Enjoy.......

Passion for retro fabrics and vintage finds....

Well ...it is my first blog insert...and I am already sooo confused! Very poor computer skills!!!
I would like to share my passion for Retro and Vintage textiles and show my latest craft achievements !!!!!

My house is bursting ... I have dollhouses, stacks of fabrics, barbies, design magazines and books, crockery coming out of my years, or under beds, behind furniture....gasp no more room, do not know where to hide from accusatory eyes .... my husband, in-laws, friends...even the postman must think I am crazy when he delivers lots of packages from all over the world ( my latest fabric acquisitions from Japan are the best!!!)

Too busy to find the time: work, kids, chasing new desirable pre-loved items on Ebay and Etsy.....visiting markets and odd charity shops in search of a great new elusive find!!!! I could dive in Barkcloth, or sip a cup of tea from by new/old 60' melamine tea cups, brewed in an elegant Catherine Holm teapot...dream on!

What can I say in my defence... it is so much fun to give a new home to a cute old thing with a secret previous life, I can imagine a storyline....  I am a romantic after all!

I hope I will find new friens to share this crazy passion of mine....I KNOW I AM NOT ALONE!!!!!
